Mexican Short Sword: a 20th century Cadette short sword, 24” overall, for the Mexican Military College. Brass fitted handle with eagle head pommel with beak holding round metal ring for the knot (missing), ivory color composite, wire wrapped grip, cross guard with acorn finials and oval langet with relief Mexican eagle and “Ejecito Mexicano Heroico Colegio Militar” and push-button lock system, brass fitted leather scabbard with oval frog button bearing the College emblem. Engraved nickel plated 16” blade.  Overall very good  but handle slightly loose. The blade does not fit properly into scabbard due to blockage with about 1/2” of blade showing.
