WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN SPIKE HELMET BADEN PICKLEHAUBE

AGE:c.1915
MATERIALS/CONSTRUCTION: Leather and metal
MARKINGS: “J.R. 170” (Infantry Regiment 170)
CONDITION: Good- front and rear visors are separating, but still attached.
OTHER INFO: Offered is a very good condition WW1 enlisted German Grand Duchy of Baden Pickelhaube. This good looking piece retains the wartime grey metal Baden helmet plate with the original leather tabs holding it in place. The lacquered leather shell is in good condition, showing only light wear and a bit of crazing. The original cockades and leather chinstrap have been lost to time -as is common with these pieces. The circular spike base retains the fixed ventilated spike with a small indentation to top. The domed rivets are all present and hold all the metal features firmly in place. The rear spine and ventilator are present. The original brown leather liner and sizing tie is present with all fingers showing light wear, mainly to the rare section. Harder to find helmet that with a little TLC would display very well.
GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described
